History of the The Shepherd's Mill, Inc.

The Shepherd’s Mill opened in March 2004.  Our goal is to provide you with quality, price-conscious fiber processing while working with you to create individualized products for you to use or sell.  We strive to put you first and to look out for your best interests while your fiber is in our mill.

My background is in the fiber arts with 15+ years experience as a weaver.  Edie & Wendy, who work with us in the mill, each have some fiber experience as well as artful eyes.  We all enjoy doing the unusual when we can and actually don’t mind small batches of special fiber.  It is a rather unusual day in the mill when at least one of us is not found fondling some fiber and expounding its beauty.  We all truly enjoy the blessing of working with your beautiful fibers.

Jay & I have enjoyed getting to know our customers through shows here in the Central Plains.  It is great to get to visit with you, cheer you on as you show your animals and meet some of the animals whose fiber we are privileged to process.  We are also happy to pick up fiber at shows when we have room to bring it home. 

We are located in North Central Kansas halfway between Kansas City and Denver on US Hwy 36.  You’ll find Phillipsburg friendly, nestled in rolling hills where wheat and cattle are still the predominate crops.  We love to have our producers visit and hope you’ll give us a call when you are going to be in our area.  We’ll be glad to make reservations for you at one of our beautiful, locally owned motels.
