Instructor: | Sally Brandon |
Instructor Bio: | Sally Brandon is the Artist in Residence at The Shepherd's Mill. While she loves all fiber arts, weaving is truly her passion. Whether in the form of bobbin lace, small tapestries or designing for the industrial loom, Sally is in her element. Her love of weaving began in the 70's with wheat weaving, deepened in the 80's when she learned to weave on a floor loom and make bobbin lace in Finland as an International 4-H Youth Exchange and has only grown stronger as she became the owner of a small-batch, custom spinning mill. Being the master spinner at The Shepherd's Mill may have consumed the last 17 years, but she has recently broken free to become the first Artist in Residence, which allows her to regain and share her love and passion for the tactile arts through teaching and encouraging others to create. |
